On 12/7/2020, a petition titled “Coos County Declaration of the People to Annul and Dismiss Oregon Governor’s Arbitrary Sanctions against Commerce, Association and Liberty” was presented to the City Council of Bandon, Oregon by local resident Rod Taylor. Mr. Taylor intends to obtain signatures and present the petition to other cities in Coos County as well as the Coos County Commissioners.
Several other Bandon residents also spoke at the meeting, describing how the COVID-19 lockdowns have affected their businesses and families. The meeting got a bit heated toward the end over accusations that the City Council was not doing enough to support their constituents.
