Washington Post publishes lies about USPS worker recanting his claim of ballot tampering

Last updated on March 5, 2023

On 11/10/2020 @ 2:59pm, The Washington Post published an article titled “Postal worker admits fabricating allegations of ballot tampering, officials say”. The article in question cites claims by investigators of the U.S. Postal Service’s Office of Inspector General, who had interviewed the postal worker in question, Richard Hopkins, after his claim of ballot tampering was released by Project Veritas.

At approximately 5pm that same day, Project Veritas released two short videos where Hopkins himself says that he has not recanted his claims. The second video contains audio of him being interviewed by USPS Office of IG member Russell Strasser. Mr. Strasser can be heard trying to convince Mr. Hopkins that he may not have heard what he claims to have heard. Both videos, as well as links to the Washington Post article, can be seen below.

**NOTE: The Washington Post edited their story later on the evening of 11/10 to include the fact that Mr. Hopkins claims he has not recanted his story.**
